I had to TOTALLY change my eating habits in order to lose weight. b/c i was in the gym for about 2 years working my ass off running each day and i did not lose a single pound. I actually found a diet online that says you can lose 9 pounds in 11 days. so i tried it and it REALLY works! I started it in march. now i am at the point where i know how to group my food properly and where to get my good carbs from. I do not eat alot of breads and pasta anymore. I get my carbs from fruit and veggies. I take a week off here and there to stablize my body and i know i'll be able to maintain. but really what you need to do is look at your eating habits, lower your calories if necessary or adjust the foods you eat. the idea is to trick you body into burning more calories faster then it is used to. I mix up my foods each day to keep my body guessing. one day I'll eat ALOT of protine and the next I'll eat all fruit. some days I'll mix protine and fruit. and other is all veggies. I found that that meal planning worked for me. I also keep on a schedual. I eat at the same time each day to keep me on track. I also think the running 25 miles a week has helped out too! but in the beginning i was lucky if i ran 10 miles a week! so you just have to play around with you life so to say to see what will work for you. Did you saw you were from Houston too?

Congratulation on your month of non-smoking. I unfortunately have fallen off of the bandwagon since... :( However, when it came time for me to quit, I did it cold turkey, and I found that keeping a bag of baby carrots with me everywhere I went really helped out. Every time I wanted a smoke, I'd grab a couple of carrots. It helped with the oral fixation, and grabbing little healthy snacks throughout the day really helps with your metabolism!

thanks everyone for the support. It really means a lot to me. It really does. I already had people,,,, when i first quit smoking telling me.. "-why are you dealing with withdrawls?... just go and take chantix.... I was like.. well if I come to need it I will take it.. but if I am being able to do it cold turkey.. I am sure it's better this way. Well I think a need to eat just a little more to boost my metabolism a little.. Lately I ve been suspecting that I am lactose intolerant.. so I need to confirm that too.. Because I dont want to have heart burn all the time.. without know what is causing it. I quit smoking and I thought the ar was coming from cigarettes and coffee .. it's not.. let see what's going to happen.

31 days without smoking. I have hit the plateau state I believe. I feel like I have the same weight for about one month... Anyways I have only been doing cardio for the entire week.. today I have decided to eat a little more.. and lift someweights.. Something I haven't not really done in years.. Maybe changing my routine may help me.
