|     I am a 33 year old mother of a very active 3 year old boy. I have type 2 diabetes and several other health problems related to obesity. I have been over weight for about 14 years. I gained 90lbs in just under 3 years due to norplant. I decided on April 6, 2008 that this would be the year that I lose the weight without surgery. My start weight on April 6 was 250lbs. When I started this profile I weighed in at 246lbs. I hope to lose about 90lbs and become more active. |

|     I use to work out like crazy, but the weight didn't start coming off until I started counting calories. I started at 182 two years ago and am now maintaining and still slowly losing at 130, of course there are a few days that I over indulge, but then I go right back to counting the calories and the weight comes off again. Exercise is great and helps, but you probably don't realize how many calories you consume, I didn't, until I started tracking it. If you can do it with just exercise, that's great, but if not just cutting back on one high calorie food a day could help. I know I will never go back to my old ways. I have more energy for my kids, my husband, and my job. Calorie counting has worked for me, I will probably always have to count them, but I feel so much healthier than I use to, so it's worth it. Great job losing the 30lbs. | Posted By:   Becky Troy on 8/20/08 | |     I have been at this since April and I've lost 32lbs. I have been working out 5 days a week twice a day. I believe that if I start counting calories I could lose even more. I just don't believe in that. I wonder who has it worked for and stuck. | | Posted By:   dupreea on 8/19/08 |
