  About Me:
Just celebrated 54 years of life and hoping for at least 46 more! Finally reached a goal of a Master's Degree and I am working toward licensure as an LMHC & the title of Sex Therapist. Grad school was a huge struggle where at times I thought my goal was hopeless and unreachable due to health issues & a divorce. Thanks to my life partner Michael's support and my own desire to not give up...I am making it! I have three beautiul daughters all now over 18 and still single. Michael & I have known each other since we were 13. As best friends in high school we didn't dare risk our friendship by telling each other that we felt more. We went off and married other people. We reconnected after 2o years of marriage had dissolved for both of us and are now happier than we ever imagined we could ever be. My field of work can sapp the life right out of you and unfortunately I have worked in some toxic places w/some toxic people. I have finally said enough is enough. I am working toward private practice and regaining my health and balance!!

Finally made the quarter mark! 11 days past the hoped for date but I got there and that is what counts. Had hoped to break 140 before seeing my sweetie on Tuesday but I need to remember how far I have come in both my health & weight since May. I was 156 lbs and had a body fat ratio of 46.6% (yuk!) and today I am 141 lbs and finally brought the body fat ratio down to 39.7%!! That means I have dropped 16 lbs of initial body fat! I have also seen an increase in bone mass from 29.2 to 29.6. I feel I can keep this up...just need to be patient to let my body change slowly! I want this change of living healthy to last the rest of my life!

I like that saying...I'm going to have to try to remember that one, kind of describes the way I feel right about now. Thanks

BTW I found a little embroidered towel that had the perfect saying to describe the primary goal of my life..."Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life!!" A healthy life to us all!!

Just did my measurements and that is where my big differences are to be found! Overall a loss of 2" on my chest, 3" on my waist, and 1.5" on my hips. Finally, I am carving the apple back into a pear and I am sure that I can even see the underlying hourglass that awaits the removal of the flesh of that pear!! My body fat ratio is down 6.2% and my initial body fat has dropped from 72 lbs down to 58 lbs! I am in old clothes and I am beginning to feel sexy & great! My weight has been slowly and steadily declining which I know is the healthiest way to change. I am making new habits that will become my new way of life. I had a cosmetic procedure done yesterday and so I was not to exercise but today I plan to mow the yard and burn some calories!! The war on fat & poor health continues and I feel I am turning the tide!!

Returned 2 days ago from the NC mountains. What a wonderful time I had with my mom who will be 84 very soon. She not only supported my new way of eating but she also joined me! I weighed in at 143.6lbs. this morning!! Her stairs kicked my butt and so did her terrain up there. Everything was pushing my muscles to work. We did a lot together from antique shopping and then cleaning our treasures to gardening and cleaning all her carpets and shoving all her furniture around! I didn't work out but I definitely got worked out & the heat made me feel like I was in a sauna every day! I must say it was tough not to have CCB to help me stay aware of my calories and all but I took my scales and weighed in almost every day. I found that by having been on CCB (educating myself on good foods & calories through this site)I was aware in my head of my calorie intake and able to watch what I was consuming. However it is so much easier to do this with CCB so I am glad to be back in the connected world to the WWW!! I even learned that I can travel and make good food choices although the juicy hamburger & french fries signs on the road were tough but I just kept chanting, "That is a bunch of grease and carbs that is not REAL food!!" Glad to be back and glad to see you all are hanging in there too!!

Back to 150! Wow! That's all I am going to say. This will be my last entry for awhile as I am heading up to the NC mountains to visit my mom.Have no computer connex there. She promises to help me stay true to my new path. Hope I'll have good news by then! All of you take care & keep the faith!! Tee Hee!

Happy June to you all as well! Lilred & Becky u two are sounding well focused & balanced! I, on the other hand, am annoyed as I have been working like crazy out in the FL heat, sticking to my cal per day & gaining weight!! Dropped to 148 yesterday & then went back to 149 today!! After all my hard work today if I don't see some results I am going to be sure that eating my own words must have a lot of calories!! Lol!! Trust the process...trust the process!!

Well after that litle treat of seeing 146 I was back up to 149 this morning. I must say I expected the rise. Seems to be the way my body is responding and that is okay because overall it is going in the right direction. I must trust the process!! I forced myself to do a workout at home and it was a tough cardio one. Would rather have walked 2 miles at the park but again it looked like rain. We must live in the same local lilred corvette! FL? Becky, keep it going you are making great decisions for yourself and just think of what a lean machine you are turning into even if the number isn't changing!!

2007 By this time stress overload of family, grad school, shoulder rebuild surgery have taken their toll! Guessing at my weight (I have never owned a scale til last week!) but not hard to see that in 6 years the weight had piled on!
