 | SARCHIBALD | 2 lbs | (7) entries | (3) comments | |   |     Today I had my usual fiber one cereal with a banana & soy milk. For my lunch today I will be eating a can of plain tuna packed in water not oil, & some fresh melons. Dinner I am making chicken tacos with just chicken breast, fresh salsa, cilantro, lime and using small tortillas. Then I will workout and have a protein shake after! :) | |   | Posted on March 9th, 2010 |
 | jennwindle | 6 lbs | (10) entries | (4) comments | |   |     Today was the beginning of a new life for me... in a way. I managed to only eat 1800 calories!! I have notice that I have a love hate relationship with food. I have formed bad habits especially at night. I love to munch on snacks and watch tv at night. It is my way of relaxing. Breaking this habit is going to be difficult I can tell. But I am trying and I am managing well. I ate very well today. Ate a lot of fresh fruit with yogurt and walnuts. Made a healthy stew packed with nutrients! My husband and daughter got ice cream tonight and I was able to stay strong and say no. When we got home tonight I made some homemade gaucomole! I was able to have it as a little snack and I feel great!
I already have my breakfast, lunch, and snack prepared and portioned out for tomorrow. That seems to really help me stay on track. I am making Taco's tomorrow night for dinner with extra lean ground turkey breast. I can make two giant tortilla's with a side of rice and beans for only 685 calories!! Plus I am able to have an after dinner snack :)
I don't have that many challenges in my life. This is probably the most difficult challenge I have ever had! I am going to push myself and realize that my goal is in reach. By my birthday I should be down to 140 lbs which is a very healthy weight for me. I am 5'7 with a lot of natural muscular build and I can't wait to be back down to my normal size! I am so excited :)

Protein
Description: Protein is essential to human life. Your skin, bones, muscles and organ tissue all contain protein. Protein is found in your blood, hormones and enzymes, too. Protein sources include both plant and animal products. Legumes, poultry, seafood, meat, dairy products, nuts and seeds are your richest sources of protein.
Recommendation: Get 10 to 35 percent of your total daily calories come from protein. Based on a 2,000-calorie-a-day diet, this amounts to about 50 to 175 grams a day. Emphasize plant sources of protein, such as beans, lentils and soy, choose lean meats, and try to include seafood twice a week.

 | nquinata | 0 lbs | (2) entries | (0) comments | |   |     Tonight I prepped myself (and my kitchen!) for the journey I will begin tomorrow. I am sick and tired of feeling bad about the way I look and about the way I feel. In the past two years, I have gained close to 50 lbs. That is all the weight I managed to keep off for almost 4 years, plus some! I am excited and motivated to lose the weight, to gain back my confidence, to feel pretty, to feel good, and to be healthy! | |   | Posted on March 8th, 2010 |
